Wayne Rooney got a procedure done called FUE, a follicular transfer by which hair follicles are relocated from donor regions then replanted in balding areas.

In the days following his treatment, Rooney publicly said to the public that he had indeed had a hair transplant and he was delighted with the result.

“I was going bald at 25 why not. I’m delighted with the result.”

Rooney had previously been paranoid about his balding after former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo nicknamed him Bobby Charlton.  (for those that don’t know, Charlton was the Man Utd legend with the comb-over.)

His surgery at the clinic in Harley Street, London  cost around £10,000 (no NOT 30k as loads of papers have reported)

Wife Coleen said she didn’t have anything to do with the transplant. She tweeted: “His own decision not me asking him, like alot are saying!! Pleased for him and it will look great x.”

Many patients who have a hair transplant are prescribed minoxidil and propecia.  Used in combination, they can prevent further hair loss and even regrow some hair

Hair transplants can never give a person a totally full head of hair but, if done properly, they can really create the illusion of a full head of hair.
